Simona Nechita

Simona Nechita has more than 15 years of experience in investment banking and Mergers & Acquisitions. She currently works as an independent advisor to companies in sell-side transactions, including majority- and minority-stake sales and carve-out situations. Simona spent more than a decade in the M&A group at Rabobank, a global bank focused on the food and agribusiness sector, where she provided advisory services to clients on four continents. She executed domestic and cross-border transactions in a variety of sectors spanning the entire food value chain, from animal protein (her main coverage area) to food/ag tech, grain, sugar, dairy, beverages, bakery, snacks and pet food. In addition, Simona initiated the development the food ingredients sector for the bank, setting the industry knowledge foundation and building the relationships network in this field.

Before joining Rabobank, Simona worked at Mitsui & Company in the Corporate Strategy and Planning Division where she helped oversee Mitsui’s chemicals businesses as well as the company’s Latin American and Canadian subsidiaries. Prior to Mitsui, Simona worked for Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking Financial Sponsors Group working on leverage buy-outs and refinancing transactions for private equity clients, and for Lehman Brothers Japan.

Simona holds an M.B.A. with honors in Finance from The Wharton School and an M.A. with honors in International Business from The Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated as class valedictorian from Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo, with a B.A. in Marketing and Finance.
